Daily Habit #1: Develop a strong morning routine.
Do you ever oversleep, rush to get ready, start work frazzled, and for the rest of the day, everything feels like it just sucks? That was definitely me until I realized how important it is to start your day on the right foot. Hence – developing a strong morning routine.
Why this will improve your life:
Research shows that the way you start your morning has a significant impact on the rest of your day, good or bad! Those with a positive mindset in the morning are more likely to be happier, more confident, and have higher productivity throughout the day.
Establishing a strong wake-up routine is a great way to take control of your day and ensure that you can start the day on a good foot.
How to get started:
Wake-up routines don’t have to be overcomplicated, especially if you don’t have much time in the mornings! Pick a few healthy habits that you know make you feel good to start your day.
For example, you could start your day with a glass of water, followed by a healthy breakfast that will give you the energy to tackle the day’s tasks.
My daily morning routine is –
- Make a delicious cup of coffee or tea: practicing mindfulness by doing something I enjoy every morning, cause yuuum
- Read my daily vision and affirmations: reminding myself of what I’m working on
- Write my daily to-do list: provides a structure for the day and encourages a sense of accomplishment when I check things off later
- Work on the hardest thing for that day: tackling the hardest thing early to prevent willpower fatigue at the end of the day
Daily Habit #2: Establish a strong sleep ritual.
You already know that sleep is incredibly important for both your physical health and your mental health. To ensure you’re preparing for the most important part of your day (sleeping), establish a strong sleep ritual to help you wind down.
Why this is life-changing:
Sleep has a huge impact on almost every single tissue in our bodies, so getting adequate sleep will improve your quality of life and overall health. You’ll be able to problem solve quicker, regulate your moods better, recover from illness faster, and so much more!
Therefore, one of the best ways to improve our productivity is to develop a strong sleep ritual that will make it easier for you to get enough sleep on a daily basis.
How to get started:
First, decide on a consistent bedtime to train your brain to get tired at a certain time every day. Make sure this time is something you can stick to and allows you to get around 7-9 hours of sleep.
Second, decide on a few wind-down activities that you want to do before bed. For example, you might choose to put on your pajamas, light a candle, and read a few pages of a book.
Choose activities that don’t overstimulate your brain before bed – meaning, don’t put “scroll on TikTok” as part of your routine.
Daily Habit #3: Schedule your day, week, and month.
Making a schedule has single-handedly made the biggest impact on my time-management abilities and has helped me accomplish so much more. If you feel like you have too many things going on and too little time to do them, planning out your day can help you stay on track.
Why this is life-changing:
Scheduling your days, weeks, and months out is a great habit for time management and stress reduction. By time blocking your day, you can prioritize when to work on important tasks and waste less time.
How to get started:
First, find what type of calendar works for you, whether it’s on paper or online. I personally add all my events into Google Calendar since it’s super easy to update!
Next, start with scheduling the big things at the monthly view: ie. travel dates, special occasions, or big deadlines and due dates. Each week, make sure to add in the other events or tasks of that week, which may include hanging out with a friend or getting your haircut. Then, at the beginning of every single day, make a list of things you’d like to complete and time block specific hours to accomplish those tasks.
Daily Habit #4: Get regular exercise daily.
Routinely incorporating physical activity into your life is one of the most important things you can do to ensure your well-being.
Why this is life-changing:
Do you know how many benefits including exercise in your daily routine has? The Mayo Clinic says that it can help prevent or manage health problems like heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, cancer, and more. Beyond physical health benefits, being active has a ton of positive effects on your mental health by improving your mood and reducing stress hormone levels. Getting regular exercise can go a long way for your overall well-being, which will impact all other areas of your life like relationships and work.
How to get started:
There are so many easy ways to incorporate physical activity into your life. If you live a relatively sedentary life, take small steps towards this… literally. Start with something simple, like taking a 15-minute walk each day. Try out different forms of exercise to find what you enjoy. Don’t like cardio? Sign up for a gym membership and lift weights. The best thing to do when you’re building a new habit is to make it fun!
Daily Habit #5: Practice a positive mindset.
Your thoughts truly shape your reality – the way you think has a significant impact on how you choose to interact with the world around you. Practicing a mindset that fosters resilience, happiness and personal growth is therefore crucial to creating the best life you can have.
Why this is life-changing:
Practicing a positive mindset will cultivate a life full of positive things. Since your thoughts drive your actions and behaviors, when you think positively, you’re more likely to seize opportunities and persevere over challenges. You’ll also attract more positive things into your life because that’s where your focus is.

How to get started:
The first step to practicing positivity is to identify negative thinking patterns and become more aware of your internal dialogue. Are there specific events that trigger negative feelings about yourself? Why do you think those thoughts? Once you catch yourself engaging in negative thinking, try to see it in a different way. Reframe it into a more positive perspective.
In addition, try to focus on the present moment. Ruminating about any past regrets or future worries will only perpetuate negative thinking. Learn some mindfulness and gratitude techniques to help ground you and focus on what you do have.
